INSTITUTE FOR COMPUTATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY (ICS)
Computational Sustainability is an interdisciplinary field that aims to apply techniques from computer science, information science, operations research, applied mathematics, and statistics for balancing environmental, economic, and societal needs for sustainable development.
Focus: developing computational and mathematical models and methods for decision making concerning the management and allocation of resources in order to help solve some of the most challenging problems related to sustainability.
ARTIST DESIGN NoE
The central objective for the ArtistDesign European Network of Excellence on Embedded Systems Design is to build on existing structures and links forged in the FP6 Artist2 NoE, to become a virtual Center of Excellence in Embedded Systems Design. This is mainly achieved through tight integration between the central players of the European research community. These teams have already established a long-term vision for embedded systems in Europe, which advances the emergence of Embedded Systems as a mature discipline.
CORK CONSTRAINT COMPUTATION CENTRE (4C)
Difficult problems can offer too many choices, many of which are incompatible, few of which are optimal. The Cork Constraint Computation Centre develops the basic science that will make it easier for computers to help us make these choices. We work with Irish and multinational industry to put our technology to practical use.
Constraint programming already has wide commercial application, but much remains to be done to fully explore and exploit the technology. We apply advances in artificial intelligence and other disciplines to make constraint programming easier to use and more useful.
ASSOCIATION FOR CONSTRAINT PROGRAMMING (ACP)
The Association for Constraint Programming aims at promoting constraint programming in every aspect of the scientific world, by encouraging its theoretical and practical developments, its teachning in the academic institutions, its adoption in the industrial world, and its use in the the application fields.
The ACP is a non-profit association, which uses the profit of the organized events to support future events or activities. At any given time, members of the ACP are all attendees of a CP conference in the past five years, and all members of the program committee of the current CP conference.
